The multi-generational family estate, Cantina Morone, is in the medieval village of Guardia Sanframondi, a.k.a. Benevento, a municipality nestled on the hill overlooking the Calore River valley and Mount Taburno. This Campanian Falanghina is named after Franciscan Monks who once owned the land, where they made their wine for mass.

Location
The vineyards comb the foothills with clay, limestone, and volcanic sediments, with the exception of the "Galano" vineyard which includes smooth pebbles from an ancient river.

Production
Hand-harvested 12 hours of maceration, soft pressing, fermentation with foot. Aging in steel for 6 months of which one month "sur lie" and 3 months in the bottle.

Tasting Notes
This Falanghina shows aromatics of lemongrass, lime leaf and citrus peel, moving onto a luscious weight on the palate with notes of orange, tropical fruits, white pepper and a salty minerality.

Pairing
Similar in style to a Mâcon or a Rhône white, it demands a roasted herb chicken but also pairs with meaty fish, calamari, and grilled vegetables.
