Winemaker Andrea Cozzolino started his project in 2004, bringing with him some of his family’s historic vineyard holdings in the Vesuvio National Park, a protected area that provides vines with an ideal biodiversity in which to thrive.

Northwest facing vineyards in the Vesuvio Lacrima Christi DOC appellation, are located in Vesuvius’ oldest viticultural areas between 900 and 1,800 feet in altitude. 15-30 year-old vines grown in soils composed mostly of volcanic sand.

A blend of 80% Caprettone and 20% Catalanesca harvested by hand. Full-cluster press and fermentation in tank with indigenous yeast. Aged on fine lees for four months, then two months in bottle.

Tasting Notes
Aromas and flavors of apple and pear, crushed stones, light herbs, and stone fruits. Medium-bodied that is silky and persistent.

Fantastic as an aperitif yet beautifully paired with fresh fish or shellfish, creamy chowder, or spring veggie risotto.
