Q. Does the food come hot?
A. All housemade offerings, including ‘Deliciously Done’ Meal Kits, are fully cooked, but require reheating. For a full list of reheating instructions visit

Q. Are substitutions or customizations available?
A. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate substitutions or special dietary requests for any Meal Kits, Housemade dishes, or Bi-Rite Creamery items.

Q. When are holiday menu items available for pickup or delivery?
A. Each holiday features unique menu offerings which are available for pickup or delivery on the following dates:

  • Hanukkah: Saturday, 12/17 to Saturday, 12/24
  • Christmas: Thursday, 12/22 to Saturday, 12/24

Q. How do I change or cancel my order?

Q. What is the Cancellation Policy?
A. Guests can change or cancel their orders up to 36 hours prior to pickup or delivery of the order. Orders cancelled with less than 36 hours' notice may be subject to a 75% cancellation fee of the order total.

Q. Is delivery available?
A. A limited number of spots per 2-hour delivery window are available; guest must be present to receive delivery.

There is a $25 flat fee per delivery; delivery is available to select zip codes only:

Q. Is Bi-Rite open on Christmas Day? 
A. No - Bi-Rite Market 18th Street and Bi-Rite Market Divisadero are closed on Christmas Day 12/25.  Both Markets close at 5pm on Christmas Eve 12/24.

Q. How do the Pickup Windows work?
A. For holiday pickups at Bi-Rite Market, please respect the 1-hour timeslot you chose during checkout. For example, “Thu, 25 November 2021 at 10am” corresponds to the 1-hour period from 10am-11am.

Q. Are there more details about the Pickup Locations?
A. For pickups at Bi-Rite Market 18th Street please pick your order up at 18 Reasons, the community cooking school located at 3674 18th Street, across the street from Bi-Rite Market.
For pickups at Bi-Rite Market Divisadero please pickup your order at the holiday table in front of the Market.

Q. Why are there Fees?
A. There is a $25 flat fee for delivery orders. This fee covers the cost of delivery, as well as the cost of extra packaging, extra staff, and extra equipment.
There is a tiered handling fee for pickup orders based on order total. The handling fee helps cover the cost of extra packaging, extra staff, and extra equipment.

  • $0-99.99 = $3
  • $100-149.99 = $6
  • $150+ = $9

Q. Where do the tips go?
A. Tips are shared between staff and third-party delivery drivers.

Q. Will the predicted national turkey shortage affect my holiday preorder?
A. Bi-Rite is proud to work directly with respected ranchers, including Good Shepherd Poultry Ranch and Pitman Family Farms, for our delicious heritage and broad-breasted turkeys. We'll continue to work closely with them throughout the holiday season to mitigate any possible issues. If you have additional questions, please contact us at 

Q. How do I report an issue or provide feedback about my order?
A. Bi-Rite’s Certified Delicious promise: we’re deeply committed to sourcing and preparing the best, most sustainable products that are full of flavor so you can choose with confidence knowing your next meal will be a memorable, delicious one. But if there’s ever a time when it’s not, for any reason, please contact us at We promise we’ll make it right.


Q. What shipping methods are available?
A. Gift boxes are shipped via UPS. You can select from Ground or Priority shipping during checkout. Sorry, but we are not currently able to ship internationally.

Q. What is inside the shipping box?
A. Your gift is packed with care using recyclable materials to ensure it arrives as intended. Since this is a gift, we will not include an invoice with the order.

Q. Can I add a personalized gift note to my gift?
A. Yes! Messages for gift notes can be placed in the order note box at the bottom of the shopping cart page.

Q. How can I place a large order or ship to multiple addresses?
A. You can either place separate orders for each shipping address, or contact us via phone 415-321-8070 and we’ll be happy to assist you. Phones are open Monday – Saturday, 9am – 5pm.

Q. Can I customize what’s in my gift box?
A. We’re sorry, but customization of gift boxes isn't currently available. However if you are local, our Market staff would be happy to help you pick out delicious items for a personalized gift.
