Domaine Paul Durdilly is a small father and son team with some of the highest vineyards in the generic Beaujolais appellation. Durdilly cares for his 20 different small parcels of vines in and around Le Bois d’Oignt according to “lutte raisonée” principles, avoiding treatments whenever possible.

Soils are a mix of granite and clay, with more than half of the vineyards sharing a unique vein of limestone, similar to Burgundy.

Hand-harvested. Fermented on indigenous yeasts in cement tanks then aged in a combination of tank and older, large foudre. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Tasting Notes
Violet aromas, akin to Vosne-Romanée. The texture is silky with flavors noting raspberries and strawberries, red plums, and subtle spice.

Perfect with Chicken or pork loin, Beef Chow Fun, Korean Barbeque, miso-roasted eggplant, or a firm cheese, such as Comté.
